Pastor Rob and Mrs. Beverly Tinney
I was saved on May 15th, 1984, after having lived my life selfishly seeking my own desires. Finding myself with no real purpose or direction, I realized that there was a tremendous void in my life and I became aware that I was trying to fill that void with all of the wrong things. On that day, I asked the Lord Jesus Christ to come in to my heart and save me and I gave him all that there was of me. At the moment He saved me, He called me to preach, and He has allowed me to serve Him in many wonderful ways. I began in the ministry full time in 1990 as Associate Pastor, Youth Pastor and Music Director at Rock Springs Baptist Church in Forest Park, Georgia, and through 1993, I had the privilege of being groomed and taught by Pastor and good friend, Dr. Tommy Aman, whose influence has been instrumental in my ministry. For the next 6 years the Lord placed me under the wise and Godly leadership of Dr. Glenn Anderson, at Liberty Baptist Tabernacle in Stockbridge, Georgia, whose friendship, leadership, and Godly example have inspired me greatly, and continue to be an example for me to follow. Early in 2000, I surrendered to the Lord's call to start a church in the Jackson, Georgia area. My wife of 37 years, Beverly, and I began a bible study with two other persons in April 2000, and that has now grown into Lighthouse Baptist Church of Jackson as the Lord has built His church.
